Apple Introduces New MacBook and MacBook Pro Models
CUPERTINO, California—February 26, 2008—Apple® today updated its popular MacBook® and MacBook Pro notebook lines with the latest Intel Core 2 Duo processors, larger hard drives and 2GB of memory standard in most models. In addition, MacBook Pro includes the latest NVIDIA graphics processors, now with up to 512MB of video memory, and Apple’s innovative Multi-Touch™ trackpad, first introduced in MacBook Air™. All Mac® notebooks include a built-in iSight® video camera for video conferencing on-the-go*, Apple’s MagSafe® Power Adapter that safely disconnects when under strain and built-in 802.11n wireless networking for up to five times the performance and twice the range of 802.11g.**
The new MacBook Pro features the latest Intel Core 2 Duo technology with up to a 2.6 GHz processor with 6MB of shared L2 cache; up to 4GB of 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM memory and up to a 300GB hard drive, plus NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT graphics with up to 512MB of video memory. Featuring a gorgeous 13-inch glossy widescreen display, and with prices still starting at just $1,099, the new MacBook lineup comes in three models and includes faster processors and larger hard drives across the line; sleek white 2.1 GHz and 2.4 GHz models with 120GB or 160GB 5400 rpm hard drives and a stunning black 2.4 GHz model with a massive 250GB 5400 rpm hard drive, previously only available as an option. What would I change at the MacBook Air?

Display: First of all, Apple wanted this MacBook to be Ultra-Portable which means the 13-inch display is a little big for it. Maybe a 11 or a 12-inch would be better.
Optical drive: Now what everybody saw at this laptop is that it doesn't have an optical drive. I think that you need one. Even if you don't really use it... at some certain point it will come in handy.
CPU: 1.6 or 1.8GHz (C2D)? I don't think it's that good. A lot of new notebooks have 2.0 or even better CPUs.
HDD: 80GB? Hmm... it could be better.
Built in Ethernet port: because I don't think everyone has a wireless router.
USB Ports? 1 more could be better.
and...
Price: $3000 for the 1.8GHz one is way to much!
Conclusion? Apple sacrificed performance to make MBA a thin notebook. If you are a regular user you may not see that this is bad but in the long run it would be better to have a thicker notebook with better performance.

People complain soon after the iPod/iPhone upgrades

After Apple upgraded their iPod touch/iPhone doubling the storage from 16GB for iPod touch to 32GB and from 8GB to 16GB for iPhone people soon complained about this over the internet. Why? Maybe because of the simple fact that Apple didn't announce this at MacWorld 2008. I think people want upgrades but if you have an expo and don't show it there... then....
Here is what a regular Apple user has to say (via phonescoop):
Apple thinks we are all sheep. After spending 400-1200 bucks for an iphone, ipod, ibook or whatever Apple makes, a few months later they come out with a different color, more memory or storage or make it a little more pretty and all of us run and get the new stuff....And of course this is not all.
I guess i am tying to say is bah bah bah bah...baaahhh..bah bah bah bah bah
Now where is my Credit Card, Steve Jobs called.
People also complained that Apple still continues to go for EDGE and not for 3G (like me). 3G would give better speeds for internet surfing (via the safari browser) and would lead to better communication.

Change a MacBook air battery? It costs you 129$
Engadget posted a serious "problem" that MacBook air has. It's the first notebook from Apple with a built-in battery (which in case of a notebook it's not good).
Imagine this: You are a business man and in the plane and your battery ran out of "fuel". You would say: It's OK... I still have a full battery in my briefcase, but with this MacBook... if you can't find a socket where to plug in your MacBook... you are in big trouble.
Batteries are designed for 300 full charge and discharge cycles. (So if you really use it a lot, this means you need to change that after one year)
What I like? Well... not really!
Will the data on my MacBook Air be preserved?
Don't rely on it being preserved. Many repairs require Apple to replace or reformat the hard disk, which will result in the loss of your data. Please make sure you back up your data on a regular basis to minimize your data loss. .Mac members may download and use Backup to save an archive of their data to a series of CDs. Apple and its AASPs are not responsible for any damage to or loss of any applications, data, or other information stored on your MacBook Air while performing service.
